ARTS – Different Ways to Pursue Your Art Education

News Sep 10, 2021

Art is an array of human activities involving creativity, visual sense, aesthetic sense, technical skill, physical ability, aesthetic sense, psychological ability, or creative thinking. Arguably, art forms are those which involve the use of the physical human senses and which consequently interpret the external environment and provide meaning. The term ‘art’ can also be used in its broadest sense to refer to the process of generating new artistic forms and expressing new visions and feelings through the process of creation. This article briefly covers the broadest of definitions for the artistic senses and the methods by which they are used.

ARTS

Visual art is the most visible and immediate expression of the artists’ thoughts and concepts. It has therefore been widely regarded as the most important art form. As such, it provides the opportunity for an artist to develop specific, personal learning experiences with potentially far-reaching consequences. The visual arts, in other words, encompass all those disciplines that involve human interaction, observation, and the creation of new knowledge and understanding.

sculpture refers to anything created by a living being in order to be seen. Thus, sculpture includes artistic creations such as pottery, stone, and architecture. Performance art, on the other hand, refers to any artistic activity other than painting or sculpture. Modern art, which is now often regarded as a single genre, includes performance art, literature, cinema, and dance. In colloquial terms, it can be regarded as any form of art that is ‘first performed.’

Besides the wide variety of specialized human visual arts, artists also needs to have advanced skills in the areas of language, literature, film, music, visual arts, and production/technical arts. It is for these reasons that many schools and universities offer art degrees, art courses, art programs, and art majors. In addition to enhancing your talent as an artist, an art degree program will teach you about the important roles played by the visual arts in society. This means that you can pursue a career in anything from advertising art to performance art.

A Bachelors Degree in Art is usually a two-year program, whereas a Master’s Degree is usually a four-year program. In most cases, art majors are given broad liberal arts classes in photography, art history, design, and theater. Students then choose either one of two general bachelor’s degree options: studio art or visual and performing art. Studio art is recommended for students who are already familiar with the visual arts but are concerned about more contemporary work and theory.

Artists who wish to become professional painters or sculptors should pursue their degree at an accredited art college. Many colleges and universities offer art courses and art majors. These programs are quite similar to traditional arts institutions and usually lead to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts. Many contemporary artists have pursued graduate work in art history, and this field offers a number of specific concentrations including media studies, perspective painting, and sculpture.
